Optimizing User Experience for a Dining App Platform
QA-driven quality improvements strengthening user engagement and platform credibility for a home dining application
Overview
A unique dining platform where couples book private dinners, tourists enjoy home-cooked meals, and people connect across diverse cultural backgrounds. Hosts organize events at their homes and guests can become hosts themselves. Ludych’s QA team was brought in to resolve platform issues impacting user engagement, content accuracy, and cross-platform consistency.
Customer
A leading food technology company delivering digital ordering and customer engagement solutions for restaurants and hospitality businesses.
Challenge
There are two types of user categories in this app. The first category is for hosts who organize dinners at their homes. These dinners may
include multiple events scheduled at different times to provide an exceptional dining experience. Another category is for guests who can book
seats at these dinners and other events.
Hosts can organize as many events as they want and also maintain a guest profile. Meanwhile, guests have the option to become hosts and organize
their events. This dynamic setup is essential for exchanging cultural experiences and providing personalized dining experiences

The platform loses credibility when it displays outdated or inaccurate content on non-logged-in pages. So, when user trust and satisfaction are affected negatively, the retention rates decline.
Issues in managing role-specific functionalities and permissions made it difficult to provide appropriate access and features. This resulted in poor operational efficiency and a negative user experience.
There are many interactions in a logged-in environment like reporting, chats, and notifications. Their effective management of these interactions can be complex, leading to certain inefficiencies. As a result, operational efficiency and user satisfaction may be significantly reduced.
Insufficient test coverage and the failure to accurately identify or report defects leads to ineffective bug fixes. This negatively affects the quality and reliability of the product.
